Environmental Damage
Environmental damage may, for instance, occur as a result of an oil spill on board of a ship during bunker operations in port.

In cases of oil pollution we take immediate action to stop the spill. At the same time, measures have to be taken to limit the extent of the pollution and initiate cleaning operations. We subsequently monitor the progress of the cleaning operations and verify whether same is done properly and in an effective and economically viable manner. Furthermore, we investigate the cause of the pollution, which also is an important part of our work.

Evidently, in cases like this, good communication between the various parties involved is very important and all action should be taken in close cooperation with those concerned, such as the ship’s staff, port authorities, agents and cleaning companies.
