Collision and Grounding
In case of collisions and groundings our surveyors start by investigating the cause by means of collecting all data. In general, this will cast light  on the circumstances of the incident.

This includes, but is not limited to, the following:
  • interviewing the Master and Officers involved
  • downloading the ship’s Voyage Data Recorder (VDR) information
  • obtaining VHF communications and Radar data which might have been recorded by a Port’s Traffic Control Centre
  • Pilot statements
  • Police reports
  • etc.
Based on these data and after having put them in the correct sequence of events, our surveyors will submit a report on the true cause of the collision or grounding.
