Nixon Joseph achieved MARPOL accreditation
Van Ameyde McAuslands surveyor, Nixon Joseph, is now an accredited MARPOL surveyor, and has been added to the approved MARPOL surveyors list.
A MARPOL surveyor is a professional who is responsible for conducting surveys of ships to ensure that they comply with the requirements of the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships (MARPOL).
The MARPOL surveyor inspects the ship’s equipment and systems to ensure that they are properly installed, maintained, and operated in accordance with the convention’s regulations. The surveyor also examines the ship’s records to verify that the vessel has been properly maintained, repaired, and serviced in compliance with the convention’s standards.
In addition to conducting surveys, the MARPOL surveyor may also provide advice and assistance to shipowners and operators on how to comply with the convention’s requirements and may participate in investigations of pollution incidents to determine the cause and identify potential sources of pollution.
Overall, the role of a MARPOL surveyor is crucial in ensuring that ships comply with international environmental standards and help protect the marine environment from pollution.
Congratulations to Nixon on achieving this accreditation.
