Van Ameyde Marine Senior Surveyor Receives Bronze Medal of Merit
We are proud to share that Senior Surveyor and Claims Manager, Danylo Yeskov, has been awarded the Bronze Medal of Merit for Ten years' service of employment with Van Ameyde Marine, foremerly Lars Krogius.
The Finland Chamber of Commerce offers a way to reward employees for their excellence - this is a tradition that's been around since 1929 and we have followed this tradition.
This tradition is The Medal of Merit. We can apply for the medal of merit for staff members who have worked for 10 years or more for the same employer or as an independent entrepreneur, or for holding a long-term position of trust. The medal acknowledges valued experience and skills, trust and honesty.
Within Danylo's role as a Claims Handler, he is mostly involved in handling cargo claims and property claims. This side of Danylo's role is predominantly desk-based, where he is involved in law, accounting, logistics and quality assurance work. Whilst managing a broad portfolio of claims, maintaining records and trends, and developing new claim handling procedures, Danylo also coordinates, executes and creates reports on surveys of different natures.
As a surveyor, most cases that cross Danylo's desk are complex and interesting. Over the last 10 years with Van Ameyde Marine, these cases have varied from loss extent evaluation of damaged and missing parts of vehicles stock, supervision of wind turbine tower sections' unloading, and cargo salvage after road accidents or moving cargo theft.
Some of the best memories of working for Van Ameyde Marine centre around in person meetings with both colleagues and clients. Danylo recalls a favoured memory regarding a warehouse risk assessment survey, where he was accompanied by colleague, Maxym Kostiuchenko, and the time spent together helped to build their strong working relationship. This survey involved driving almost 2,000km, visiting six cities and was an intense job due to a tight schedule over the course of one week.
Reflecting on past cases, the most rewarding part is the work itself and clients' positive feedback, as for many clients Danylo has become a close advisor. Internal relationships with colleagues across the company is also very rewarding, of which Danylo values his connection with his direct management, Maxym Kostiuchenko, Hanna Kivelä and Jane Garder, who have supported Danylo in events of difficulties and contributed heavily to his development as a professional.
