CV summary
Andy is a Marine Surveyor and joined McAusland & Turner in 2019. Before becoming a marine surveyor, Andy worked in the offshore windfarm construction industry as heavy lift deck supervisor, prior to this Andy served on a variety of vessels mostly in the oil and gas sector for 20 years; lastly as chief officer/deck supervisor on a self-elevating jack up vessel that serviced gas platforms and well servicing operations. He has extensive onshore and offshore experience in the planning and supervision of lifting operations and crane operations.
During his time in the oil and gas industry he held numerous qualifications for the shipment of dangerous goods, and he was also a trained authorised gas tester. During his time offshore he was trained and involved in accident investigation and was also involved in the reviewing of offshore vessels’ safety cases.
Since joining McAusland’s Andy has been involved in the loading/lashing and unloading of wind turbine components, Marine warranty surveys and P&I work. Andy is trained as a visual weld inspector and holds the NVQ level 5 Diploma in Controlling Lifting Operations (LOLER appointed person) and is also studying for the P&IQ diploma drop and is always keen to further his career and experience as a marine surveyor.
