CV summary
A Master Mariner with an MSc in Strategy & Resource Management, Jeff started his seagoing career in 1985 and sailed on crude, product and liquefied gas vessels for 11 years.
After leaving the sea he had a ten year academic career where he led, designed and taught undergraduate marine operations degree programmes before returning to industry and joining a major independent tanker owner and operator as part of their management team. Six years in front line vessel management was followed by a move into marine consulting in the City of London in 2012, which culminated in a role as Director of Consulting for a large global marine survey and consulting firm.
In 2016 he took a role as Managing Director for an independently owned marine survey company and joined Van Ameyde McAuslands as Managing Director in 2022. His specialisms include technical due diligence work for the London finance markets, vessel and marine casualty investigation on behalf of Clubs and hull interests and cargo damage. He has acted as an expert witness in arbitration.
