Mayke completed her nautical and technical education and obtained her Maritime Officer License (first mate all ships, with a Captain’s license).

Additionally, she followed the course ‘Transport and Logistics’ on bachelor level.

After her graduation she sailed as Maritime Officer on various types of vessels for more than 5 years, but mainly on general cargo vessels where she was amongst others responsible for the correct stowage, lashing and securing of the cargo.

After her sea-going career she worked as a Port Captain with different companies in Belgium.

She started her career with Van Ameyde Marine Belgium in 2017.
