Sven commenced his career with Van Ameyde Marine as a marine surveyor in 2022. He holds a National Higher Diploma in Maritime Studies and is an ex Master Mariner with 18 years sea service up to the rank of Master (3 years command experience).

Sven started his marine surveying career in the UAE in 2008 where he was based in Dubai for 14 years with leading global marine survey companies carrying out H&M surveys, including on high profile casualties, across the Middle East region, as well as general marine surveys and consultancy.
