Van Ameyde Krogius Awarded EcoVadis Bronze Medal for Sustainability Excellence
Van Ameyde Krogius in Finland has been awarded the EcoVadis Bronze Medal, a recognition of its ongoing commitment to sustainability and responsible business practices.
EcoVadis is one of the world’s leading sustainability assessment platforms, providing companies with comprehensive tools to evaluate and strengthen their environmental and social performance.
Demonstrating Responsibility and Transparency
Through the EcoVadis assessment, Van Ameyde Krogius can transparently showcase its sustainability efforts to clients and partners. As sustainability becomes an increasingly decisive factor in business relationships, EcoVadis certification is emerging as a trusted benchmark, which may serve as a prerequisite for partnerships and procurement decisions.
Four Key Dimensions of Evaluation
EcoVadis assesses companies across four critical areas:

- Environmental responsibility: Management of environmental risks, including energy use, waste handling, and emissions reduction.
- Labour and human rights: Protection of employee rights, occupational safety, non-discrimination, and working conditions.
- Ethical practices: Measures to prevent corruption, ensure compliance with competition laws, and promote fair business conduct.
- Sustainable procurement: Oversight and support of sustainability throughout the supply chain and subcontractor relationships.
The EcoVadis Assessment Process
The assessment consists of four phases: data collection, analysis, scoring and reporting, and improvement recommendations. EcoVadis tailors its evaluation to each company’s industry, size, and geographic location, using a customised questionnaire. This is supported by documentation such as action plans, reports and certifications.
EcoVadis experts then analyse the submitted information against global best practices and industry standards. The assessment framework draws on respected references including the UN Global Compact, ISO 26000, International Labour Organization (ILO) conventions, and the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), which guides sustainability reporting.
Based on this analysis, companies receive a score along with a detailed report outlining strengths and areas for improvement. The report also includes actionable recommendations to help enhance sustainability performance.
Hanna Kivelä, Managing Director of Van Ameyde Krogius, shared her thoughts on the achievement:
“We’re proud to have earned the bronze medal. The assessment report clearly highlights both our strengths and the areas where we can improve. With EcoVadis’ recommendations and action points, we’re committed to advancing our sustainability journey with even greater determination.”
