Our history

The story of Van Ameyde goes back to 1945, when Mr Henry van Ameyde started handling damage to Army vehicles. In the ninteen-sixties Van Ameyde expanded into marine surveying with the incorporation of ‘Marine Survey Bureau H.A. van Ameyde’ – now called Van Ameyde Marine. The business line has grown ever since, both through Van Ameyde Marine and sister organisation Krogius.

The year 2014 saw the expansion into Belgium, with NorthSea Marine Surveyors (established in 1965), joining the Van Ameyde Marine organisation. The Belgian operations were further strengthened in September 2018 with Sparks Surveyors. As a result, Van Ameyde Marine now employs 35 highly specialised marine surveyors, capable of dealing with any kind of loss or risk.
