            Consultant Chemist - Singapore

            Job Summary:

            We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Chemist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting chemical analyses, investigating marine incidents, and providing expert advice on chemical-related matters.

            Responsibilities:
            • Conduct chemical analyses and testing of substances using various techniques and equipment (e.g., GC, GC-MS)
            • Investigate marine incidents, including cargo damage and contamination
            • Provide expert advice on chemical related matters, including cargo handling and storage
            • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve chemical-related issues and improve processes
            • Stay up to date with industry developments, regulations, and standards
            • Ensure compliance with laboratory safety protocols and regulations
            • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOP) for laboratory testing
            • Able to advise clients on the quality of fuel (bunker) & oils
            Education Requirements:
            • Minimum bachelor’s degree in chemistry or chemical engineering
            • Professional certification as Consultant Chemist preferred.
            Preferred Experience:
            • Experience in the maritime sector, preferably with a background in chemicals and petrochemicals
            • Experience with quality control and quality assurance procedures
            • Knowledge of regulatory requirements, such as ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 8217 etc.
            • Experience onboard chemicals and oil tankers, regarding supervising correct sampling and performing causal investigations
            • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
            • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
            • Comprehensive knowledge and experience in analytical chemistry, including GC and GC-MS techniques
            • Proficient in writing technical reports in English
            • Acted as a marine expert witness for legal firms
            • Singaporean of Singapore PR is preferred
