(Steel) Inspector/Surveyor

Van Ameyde Marine is a marine survey and inspection company in the shipping and transport industry. With offices in Rotterdam, Maasvlakte, Amsterdam, and Vlissingen – and operating internationally – we specialize in assessing damages and inspecting all types of cargo and vessels. From cargo checks to damage investigations and vessel condition surveys – no two days are the same with us.

What will you do?

You will work for a survey company in the maritime sector. As an Inspector/Pre-loading and Cargo Surveyor, your daily tasks will include:

• Inspecting cargo (mainly steel) on quays and aboard ships;
• Conducting tests aboard ships;
• Recording the condition of vessels (On-hire Surveys);
• Reporting in English.

This role offers a great balance between working outdoors (mainly in the ports of Amsterdam, Beverwijk, and IJmuiden) and indoors, either from home or our Amsterdam office.

What do you bring?

• Minimum MBO level;
• You thrive in a dynamic work environment with changing workload;
• You’re flexible and willing to work outside regular office hours, including weekends when needed;
• You speak and write English fluently (Dutch is a plus);
• You are communicative and professionally presentable;
• Experience in the maritime sector is an advantage;
• You’re available for 32-40 hours a week.
