We are pleased to announce that Kalaivani Murugaiah has joined our Singapore office as Consultant Chemist, further strengthening our technical consultancy capabilities across the marine, bunker fuel, and cargo sectors.

Kalaivani brings more than 11 years of experience in marine fuel testing, research, laboratory management, and fuel quality investigations, making her a valuable addition to our growing team of specialists.

In her new role, Kalaivani will provide expert technical support on a wide range of marine and cargo-related matters, with a particular focus on bunker fuel oil quality disputes, fuel contamination investigations, and fuel performance issues. She will also support clients with investigations involving liquid and dry bulk cargo contamination, quality concerns, and loss prevention matters.

Throughout her career, Kalaivani has developed extensive expertise within ISO 17025-accredited laboratory environments, leading research and development initiatives, conducting complex fuel investigations, and managing laboratory operations. Her experience includes the implementation and application of internationally recognised testing standards, including ASTM, ISO, IP, and EN methodologies, ensuring analytical practices remain aligned with the evolving requirements of the marine industry.

Kalaivani holds a Master of Chemical Engineering with Entrepreneurship and a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Biotechnology. She is also a SAC Approved Signatory, authorised to verify and approve laboratory analysis results in compliance with ISO 8217 marine fuel standards.

Her strong analytical capabilities, problem-solving approach, and in-depth understanding of marine fuel quality will further enhance our ability to support shipowners, charterers, fuel suppliers, P&I Clubs, insurers, and legal teams facing complex technical disputes and investigations.
