Van Ameyde Marine Surveyor Receives 20 Year Medal of Merit

Behind every successful company there are many skilled and committed employees. It's good to stop once in a while and say "Thank you!"
We are pleased to share that Senior Surveyor, Andris Antonovs, has been awarded the Silver Medal of Merit for Twenty years' service of employment with Van Ameyde Marine, formerly Lars Krogius.
The Finland Chamber of Commerce offers a way to reward employees for their excellence – this is a tradition that’s been around since 1929 and we have followed this tradition.
This tradition is The Medal of Merit. We can apply for medal of merit for staff members who have worked for more than 10 years or more for the same employer or as an independent entrepreneur, or for holding a long-term position of trust. The medal acknowledges valued experience and skills, trust and honesty.
In the twenty years that Andris has worked with Van Ameyde Marine, no instruction is surprising, due to the varied nature of jobs Andris has undertaken as a marine surveyor. Andris looks forward to when new and interesting jobs cross his desk as he is constantly looking to face new challenges in his role.

Andris has a Master's Degree of Environmental Science/Engineering and has a maritime career as a Deck Officer and working up to Chief Officer on commercial vessels of both UK and Finland based companies. Following his seagoing career, Andris was introduced to the world of marine surveyors by a friend and joined Lars Krogius Baltic in 2003. The first two years of his career as a marine surveyor were fairly difficult whilst he learnt more about the role of a marine surveyor and gained valued experience. Today, Andris' role largely covers marine cases and cargo claims throughout the Baltics.
Working for Van Ameyde Marine, Andris has many fond memories. Whilst there have been ups and downs, a highlight is being able to meet with and get to know colleagues across the Baltics and Scandinavia, to catch-up with and recall past interesting cases.
