Our History
Established in 1888 as McAusland Turner, McAuslands stands as the UK's longest-running Marine Surveying and Consulting firm in the Port of Hull. Renowned for its impeccable quality, the company is a proud member of the Team Humber Marine Alliance. Its team of surveyors and consultants bring forth a distinct fusion of skills and are affiliated with several prestigious organizations, such as:
- The Nautical Institute
- The Institute of Marine Engineering, Science & Technology
- The British Association of Cargo Surveyors
- The International Institute of Marine Surveying
- ICHCA (International Cargo Handling Coordination Association)
- The Honourable Company of Master Mariners
- The Energy Institute
Earning its stripes as official P&I Correspondents in 1916, McAuslands' association with P&I Clubs has been enduring and robust. Beyond this, the firm also represents insurers, legal entities, governmental organizations, and the broader marine sector. Since 2002, McAuslands has held the distinguished title of a Lloyd’s Agency for England's East Coast.
A history on which clients place their trust
Through expansion and acquisition, the company now covers the UK, from Kinross in Scotland to Southampton, and operates internationally, too, with offices in South Africa. To offer its clients truly global representation through like-minded service providers, McAuslands joined Van Ameyde’s marine network in 2019.
