CV summary

Olof is a Marine Engineer, who joined Van Ameyde Marine in 2022. Olof is a Chief Engineer with 17 years’ seagoing experience on tugs, AHTS and dredgers/rock dumping vessels, including 10 years as Chief Engineer on suction hopper dredgers/rock dumping vessels (side stone and fall pipe)/DP construction vessels (including cable-lay, ROV & diving support). Marine consultant and surveyor since 2009.

He specialises in both new builds and vessel conversion projects. He has prepared FMEA-packages, feasibility surveys for DP upgrades and carried out DP incident investigations. He is OVID/CMID accredited and has also managed vessel assurance services for oil majors and vessel owners (including pipe lay, cable lay, ROV, helicopter operations, DP, anchor handling, diving, towing, pushing, heavy lift, jack up survey). He has carried out many surveys and investigations on behalf of H&M and P&I insurers as well as admiralty lawyers. He has also prepared reports and provided opinions for arbitrations in Malaysia and Singapore as expert witness.

He spent six years as Technical Superintendent for offshore vessels operating in Sakhalin, Russian Federation for pipe-lay, dredging and rock scour placement and in Australia. He was also Plant Manager for a fleet of suction hopper and cutter dredgers operating on major sand reclamation projects in the UAE.
